Introduction

Sandrock Services is a business that aims to provide a considerate, relevant and reliable service to all its clients. As part of our responsibility to the local community, we are also aiming to reduce our environmental impact to the local, regional and global community where it does not have an impact on the level of support offered to our local community.

Environmental Policy Implementation

Sandrock Services will, where possible:

  • Reduce energy use by monitoring energy usage, ensuring that switch-off policies are recognised and adhered to by building users, and finding the best cost-effective ways of replacing or reducing items and appliances that use energy where an alternative reduced energy option is available.
  • Promote and provide awareness campaigns of energy efficiency schemes to its employees and clients (current and potential).
  • Use sustainably sourced resources, in particular paper products, where possible and within budget, such as FSC and Fair Trade.
  • Find ways of reducing waste going to landfill by looking at ways of reducing disposable and other material resources purchased and brought into the business, as well as
    exploring and actioning recycling options.
  • Promote and enable an effective waste streaming process within Sandrock Services premises/sites.
  • Reduce resource use and waste through effective staff awareness training,
campaigns and smart ordering of materials and resources.
  • Recycle all paper that does not contain information whereby confidentially maybe compromised.
  • Reduce water use and waste through utilising water reduction gadgets (such as low flush cisterns) as well as ensuring that all taps and overflows are not leaking. A clear reporting and maintenance procedure will be in place to ensure that this happens.
  • Ensure all waste removal is conducted by an appropriately licensed contractor in accordance with the appropriate Environmental and Waste Disposal regulations.
